I fell in love with costuming watching my mother make costumes for us kids, my Dad and all their friends for Halloween. I fell in love with clowning in a 4th of July parade. My clown and costuming dreams collided with Ringling Bros. and Barnum and Bailey circus. I was able to clown, make amazing crazy costumes and travel the US. This opened the door to clown arts education, home town clowning, and designing costumes for the people I love, clownies!
Each clown character is unique. You deserve someone who listens to your ideas and helps you create a costume or make-up that works for you and supports your dream of clowning, within your budget. Whether it is a few accessories, a wig or hat, make-up tips or a full new look my daughter Julia and I love working with you to make your ideas become reality.

Teaching clowns the magical art of clowning has been the most rewarding part of my career. I have been blessed to have amazing clown friends who believe you learn by doing not just class time. These friends have helped me shape an amazing program called Mooseburger Clown Arts Camp. Clowns come from all different age groups and backgrounds to learn the wonderful art of clowning. There truly is nothing else like it. Why? Because we care about your clown life! We want you to be successful when you return home to bring joy to your community. We have been doing this for over 25 years and we know what works. We are constantly growing and changing and fine tuning our program to meet your needs.
Because we believe in supporting Clown Arts we created the Red Nose Reader program. This step by step program sets you up to succeed in schools, libraries, day cares and so much more. It is a non profit program that provides an amazing community of clowns who support one another with an anti bullying message through kindness. Perfect for clowns who want to give back!

Mooseburger Camp started as Mooseburger University in 1994. (Yes I was pregnant with Julia Swanson!) The following year we did a small local workshop. Then Mooseburger Clown Arts Camp was born in 1996! In my heart I wanted to take my years of experience teaching at camps, conferences and conventions and create a powerful clown arts education experience. I feel that beginners and experienced clowns alike can learn from each other as they laugh, grow and play in a big clown sandbox.
Truth be told I always wanted to recreate the magical experience I had at Ringling Brothers Barnum and Baily Clown College for home town clowns. I think we come pretty darn close and even improve upon it (no stress about getting a contract or earning a spot in the final show!) Because it is NOT about becoming a circus clown. It is about becoming the best clown that you can be for you! No matter how old you are, what skills you have, or where you live! Be the best clown you can be and let us help you!
Every year I assemble an amazing staff. They are not only the best in their field, they really care about you. We have a special guest star each year to bring in something new and fresh and stretch your boundaries. And YES you perform at the end of the week in a free show for the public. Even if you are a beginner we have a routine you can do! More experienced? We will encourage you and stretch you!
You are more than an attendee at Mooseburger Camp, you are family. We have alumni. Lasting friendships are formed. Lives are changed. Join our Facebook page and see for yourself! Mooseburger Clown Arts Camp and Mooseburger Clown Arts Friends. Then sign up and have one of the best weeks of your life!
